Hi, you may all have received your BMFA News recently but I don't apologise for posting some of it here for your perusal. Manny Williamson (BMFA Development Officer) gave his permission for me to extract some of his Chacksfield Chat and add it here and I think it very sensible and something the club should be thoughtful of:
Hi everyone. With Spring here at last - as per John Curran's picture shows - flying is starting again after all the winter chills. You may remember that until April 1st we're on Flying Field Winter Time!
Please note that all For Sale items can now be seen by any viewer of this site; i.e. both club and Non-club members. This may allow items to find a wider market but I do caution you all about the potential dangers of putting your contact details, obviously necessary to sell to non-members, on the site as anyone and any application hunting for names and addresses will then be able to see them.
If you only want to sell to club members then ensure there are no contact details shown within the advert.
You have been warned.
Hi everyone: I've been contacted by someone who's bought a r/c foamie complete with all the r/c gear off EBay. However he now realises that there's no way the first flight is going to be a success without some help and he has asked, through the club site, for some help. Naturally he's unsure about joining the club until he knows a) the plane can fly and b) he'll enjoy it (although he did do some control line flying many years ago).
I've just bought one of the above and bent it on the first flight. However it's now repaired and ready again.
Would it be better if we could move the flying circle slightly further away from the pits area?
